I hear so many people speaking of faith as though it is an independent commodity. Politicians like to reference it as though it is shared by fellow citizens which strengthen or unify them yet little is said of the source of such faith. It is as though it is a mysterious force or inner strength. They make it sound like you can acquire it or muster it up from drawing on some personal deep introspection.
We often hear the phrase; “Faith will get you through”, REALLY?
In times of trouble and catastrophes we often hear the phrase “HAVE FAITH“. Now if you haven’t noticed yet, let me point out the problem! The problem with this phrase is it doesn’t acknowledge the source of this faith, the question is FAITH IN WHAT?
Some would qualify this phrase by adding, have faith in God! REALLY? Well this is still inadequate because it doesn’t reveal which God is implied. The point is these vague statements don’t identify the object of your faith.
Faith without an object is foolish! Many have faith in false gods. These can never help. Many have faith in man, governments, or even religions. So if you really believe faith can help or save you; why would you neglect to tell us the object of your faith?
My faith is in Jesus Christ! The only begotten Son of Jehovah GOD! I am not ashamed to proclaim the object of my faith. How about you?
The truth is, we should never mention faith in a conversation without identifying the source of our faith! FAITH MUST HAVE AN OBJECT! Faith can’t exist independently.
