If you have ever wondered; What would God’s Prophets say to us today?

Well, listen and you will hear the Ancient of Days speaking from the depths of the earth and across the ages past to our present confusion!

First, let me share with you a lesson God taught me personally! Very early in my Christian experience, I was troubled by testimonies where the phrase, “God told me this or that” was freely stated.  I wondered; do they speak of a literal conversation?  If so, I wondered; why haven’t I heard an audible voice?  I prayed about it but fell asleep never finishing my prayer.  Then, wee early in the midnight hours, I was woke by what I perceived to be an audible voice!  I rationalized, I was just dreaming of the subject I had been praying about and tried to return to my sleep.  Then undeniably, I heard an “audible” voice say “Hebrews Chapter 1”!  I have to admit, I was frightened!  I was a baby Christian and had no idea what Hebrews Chapter 1 spoke of; I was frightened it might not be a word I would want to hear.  Nevertheless, I wasted no time turning to this chapter and verse.  What I found was “amazing”.  God answered my question without creating a dependency on an audible voice.  He proved He could speak to us in an audible voice if He chose but that He wants us to receive the words of His prophets and Jesus his son in the holy scripts.  He skillfully directed me to His Word.

Heb 1:1-2  God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

I could not have received a clearer message, an undeniable confirmation.  God can and does speak audibly on occasion but wants us to hear His Prophets and receive His inspired Word.  I would never forget this special experience nor would I see the Holy Script as just a collection of ancient documents but truly the LIVING WORD.

So, with this being said; I am moved by the recent recovery of script of some of God’s early Prophets in the caves of Qumran.  I believe God is directing us to His Word much the same as He directed me in the example I shared.  The question we started with is this; What would God’s Prophets say to us today? Truth is a rare commodity in our society today. Unrest is rampant across the globe. Slander is the tool of the politicians and media. Calling good bad and bad good; total confusion of realities. Perjury is practiced with skill in the halls of government. God tells us He hates this…

I believe the fragments found were a “fresh” word for such a time as this, if only we will receive them!  God tells us what we should be doing to “cleanup the mess of our societies” and reminds us of the judgments to come if we reject His directions!  Righteousness or Judgement?  What shall it be?

ARE YOU LISTENING?

Zec 8:16-17  These are the things that ye shall do; Speak ye every man the truth to his neighbour; execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates: And let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbour; and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate, saith the LORD.

Nah 1:5-6  The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein. Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.

I would remind you that God is a loving God and would prefer to save us from the judgments to come on the children of disobedience. God’s grace is still available, so hearken to His warnings! The end of the age is at hand! Please don’t reject so great a salvation! REPENT and be saved by the blood of Jesus.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Eze_33:11  Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die …?
