The question; is Coronavirus a judgment of God?

Well I’m glad you asked; at least you are considering the potential and you must then be somewhat troubled about the times we are living through …. Wars, Fires, Famines, Pestilence, Earthquakes, Lawlessness, to name just a few of the signs we’re told to watch for!

So, let’s jump right in: No, I don’t believe this Corona-virus is a judgment of God, however, it certainly should be a wake up call for what is on the horizon.  Jesus told us there would be birth pains (wars, famine, pestilence, and earthquakes) but he also told us that these things would precede the end and would be called the “beginning of sorrows”, but NOT the END.  Matt 24:6

Now before we leave Matt 24:6 I need to point out that Jesus never mentions disease or sickness of any sort in this context.  Actually, there is no reference to disease or sickness in the Rev 6:8 judgments of John’s revelation either.  The reference to a “Pale Horse” is often considered to be sickness but the Greek word means “Green” and the scripture states that it represents “death” by various means, the sword, famine, death, and wild beast.  Now, one could associate pandemics with “wild beast” but it seems a bit of a stretch to me.  Nevertheless, it could be a metaphor.  Sickness can reasonably be associated with famine too but I really caution the practice of trying to make scripture say something it clearly doesn’t say.  In the long run we as spokesman lose credibility and the whole of our message gets lost in the debate.  The point of prophecy is lost then; Jesus said that prophecy would confirm not raise questions.  Prophecies fulfilled build faith.  Joh 14:29 And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.

This virus or pandemic has its origin in China and I suppose you could say that it is actually born of greed because we have made alliances with an ungodly culture for access to cheap labor and goods.  Israel was warned not to make alliances with idolatrous nations. It always led to compromising their principles and ultimately their demise.  We too should never do business with the Devil but we do!  Interestingly, when we reap what we sow our God seems to always get the blame.  I rather would say that these curses that come upon us are the evidence of the absence of God in our society rather than His judgment.    2Ch 7:14  If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Now let’s consider the term, judgment.  It is good that we should look at this word because Christians have bought into the tribulation period being a time of judgement.  Well it certainly is but not of the Christian.  The judgments of the tribulation period are based on the unfinished business between God and Satan, the fallen angles, and the children of disobedience.  If this seems unfamiliar to you then you should pay close attention.  The following discourse will change your entire perspective of the end times and RIGHTFULL SO!

The first thing we need to establish is that you are “NOT” of any of the three categories mentioned.  The following scriptures “should” describe you; if not, then you should be concerned!  However, be of good cheer because we can remedy even that before you leave this Blog page.

Col 2:14  Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

So, listen close to what God says about YOU!

  1. Joh 3:16-18  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
  2. 1Th 1:10  And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.
  3. 1Th 5:9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
  4. Joh 12:47-48 And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.
  5. 1Co 11:31  For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
  6. Luk 21:36  Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
  7. 1Jn 2:2  And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
  8. 1Jn 1:8-9  If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
  9. Luk 12:8  Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God:

Now one thing I know for sure is that by now you should know clearly if you have reason to worry! You came here because you were somewhat concerned or at least curious.  So, the question is now; will you leave here with the confidence that God loves you and his son Jesus is His answer to your condition?  Now, I must warn you, this is serious and you really need to heed what the ninth scripture listed says; you must confess your faith in Jesus Christ.

Rom 10:9-11  That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed

If you’re serious, then you will acknowledge this decision to someone and you will commit to seek God’s will for your life.  You can send us a comment and we will rejoice with you!  There is much more to learn of the blessings of salvation and we would be honored to help you discover “who you are in Christ”

There are many more questions to be answered regarding God’s plan for you.  We will help you discover those answers as well.  Please get connected to a local church!  We all need the body of Christ … and the body of Christ need you!
